Bridgestone prevails in major environmental coverage litigation recovering in excess of $100 million

Client(s) Bridgestone Americas Holding Inc.

Jones Day represented the policyholder, Bridgestone, in an environmental coverage litigation over past and future clean-up costs at both owned industrial and third-party waste disposal sites located around the country. The Firm litigated in successive actions against the policyholder's occurrence based domestic and London Market general liability insurers and against its environmental impairment liability insurer, prevailing on all key coverage issues. Claims of bad faith were also pursued against certain insurers. The total recovery for the policyholder exceeded $100 million.
