Jones Day's Ty Childress named to Los Angeles Business Journal's list of "Leaders of Influence: Litigators & Trial Attorneys"
Ty Childress, who serves as chair of Jones Day's national Insurance Recovery Practice and as the Head of Litigation for the Los Angeles Office, has been named to the Los Angeles Business Journal's list of "Leaders of Influence: Litigators & Trial Attorneys." Nominees are selected based on their professional achievements, community leadership, milestones, and notable accomplishments during the previous 12-18 months.
Mr. Childress is an experienced litigator and has helped recover billions of dollars on behalf of corporate policyholder clients in state and federal trial proceedings across the United States, as well as London arbitration proceedings. In addition to leading the Firm's Insurance Recovery Practice, his active commercial litigation practice includes defending Union Pacific Railroad in high-profile litigation relating to antitrust claims, major derailments, and other wrongful death and substantial property damage litigation for decades. Most recently, Mr. Childress co-led a team that secured summary judgment for Union Pacific in a complex multidistrict antitrust proceeding involving more than 100 cases.
Beyond the courtroom, Mr. Childress has previously served as a member of the Board for the Los Angeles County Bar Foundation and the Board of Trustees for Chadwick School in Palos Verdes. He also serves on the Dean's Council for the University of Virginia School of Law.
