Nicole Perry named among "Women Who Mean Business" by Houston Business Journal

Houston Business Journal named Nicole Perry, a partner in the Firm’s Business & Tort Litigation Practice, to its list of "Women Who Mean Business" for 2023. The list honors women in leadership roles who have demonstrated excellence in their careers and community.

With more than 17 years of experience in complex civil litigation in state and federal courts, Ms. Perry focuses on disputes covering a wide array of industries. She has a strong track record in hearings, trials, and arbitration proceedings involving purported class actions, breach of contract allegations, copyright disputes, trade secret misappropriation, fraud claims, and cybersecurity issues. Recent highlights include achieving dismissal of 11 human trafficking matters under the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act filed against a major hospitality company in Texas, Georgia, Florida, California, and Oregon; defeating class certification on behalf of an air-ambulance provider in an Airline Deregulation Act matter in South Carolina, which stemmed the tide of further class action filings against the provider; negotiating a zero-dollar settlement in a cybersecurity arbitration matter on behalf of a major oil refiner; and obtaining a non-suit of fraud and other claims after just three weeks of litigation.

Ms. Perry is currently the Hiring Partner for the Houston Office and previously served as the Pro Bono Partner in Houston. As Pro Bono Partner, Nicole supervised nearly twenty pro bono and community service matters at any given time on work for human trafficking survivors, asylum seekers, veterans, and marginalized populations. She also leads the Firm’s anti-human trafficking efforts related to public awareness and data issues, working closely with Rotary International on its Houston-based efforts. Ms. Perry also created and led until recently the "Pathways to Law" program, which was developed ten years ago to increase the pool of diverse lawyers by introducing students from diverse and economically-disadvantaged backgrounds to the practice of law at Pilgrim Academy in Houston.

Other recognition for Ms. Perry includes being named a "South Trailblazer" by The American Lawyer in 2022; recognized for “Outstanding Leadership in Pro Bono Partnerships” by a Firm client in 2019, and chosen as an "On the Rise Professional Excellence Honoree” by Texas Lawyer in 2018.
