Daniel Travers focuses on complex domestic and multijurisdictional disputes and investigations across a number of industry sectors. He has particular experience advising on contentious insolvency and banking matters.

He also has acted on a number of disputes on behalf of energy sector clients, most notably the successful defense of Texas Keystone, the U.S. oil and gas company, against Excalibur Ventures' high-profile $1.6+ billion claim for an interest in petroleum fields in Iraqi Kurdistan, for which Jones Day received numerous awards, including being named Litigation Team of the Year at The British Legal Awards, The Lawyer Awards, and Legal Business Awards. Daniel also advised on the groundbreaking follow-on litigation against Excalibur's third-party litigation funders and has written and spoken extensively on issues surrounding third-party funding.

Daniel is currently acting for the liquidators of SHB Realisations Limited (formerly BHS Limited) on its high-profile investigations into one of the largest retail collapses in the U.K.

Daniel's other recent experience includes: advising on high-profile insolvency proceedings, including across the manufacturing, aviation, and retail sectors; representing a global bank in connection with investigations brought by regulatory and enforcement agencies, including the FCA, SFO, and DOJ in relation to forex; advising a global bank in relation to OFT and related proceedings; advising Bonhams, the auction house, in a high-profile dispute regarding a vintage Ferrari racing car; acting on committal and conspiracy proceedings arising from complex multijurisdictional litigation; and acting for a leading international pharmaceutical company in connection with a multijurisdictional contractual dispute.

Jones Day successfully defended Goldshield Group Plc against prosecution by the Serious Fraud Office for conspiracy to defraud the NHS by alleged participation in a pharmaceutical price-fixing/market sharing cartel during the late 1990s.

ENRC completes $3 billion IPO with offering on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange
Jones Day advised Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation plc (ENRC) on its primary listing on the Main Market of the UK Listing Authority and admission to trading on the London Stock Exchange and related US$3 billion global offer by Deutsche Bank, as sole global coordinator, sponsor, and joint bookrunner, and Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley, and ABN AMRO Rothschild, as joint bookrunners.
