Tim Lanzendorfer represents clients in complex litigation before federal and state courts. His experience includes matters involving constitutional law, health care billing litigation, Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) claims, bankruptcy proceedings, and contractual disputes.

Tim has assisted clients in many stages of litigation, from pleadings to depositions to discovery disputes to appeals before the U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeals for the Third, Fifth, Sixth, and Ninth Circuits. With an emphasis on brief writing designed to bring clarity to complicated legal issues, Tim has worked on the cutting edge in developing the law surrounding the novel No Surprises Act. Tim also has experience with claims brought under the United States Constitution, disputes arising out of corporate mergers, ERISA claims, bankruptcy appellate issues, labor disputes, election litigation, internal corporate investigations, and claims brought under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).

Prior to joining Jones Day, Tim served as a law clerk to Judge Eric E. Murphy of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and to Judge Douglas R. Cole of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.

Before attending law school, Tim had a successful career in Ohio politics and government, which included serving as the political director for a victorious gubernatorial campaign and as the Deputy Director of Boards and Commissions in the Ohio Governor's Office. Tim currently serves as an appointed member of the Ohio Criminal Sentencing Commission, and his legal scholarship has been cited in Ohio Supreme Court litigation.
