Danny Johnson, a former law clerk to Justice Amy Coney Barrett, has substantial experience in high-stakes commercial disputes and novel public law matters.

Prior to joining Jones Day in 2023, Danny represented a state government in a complex and high-profile nuisance case, which — after a multiweek jury trial — resulted in a favorable settlement valued at more than $600 million. Danny has briefed dispositive issues, argued multiple motions, and tried a case to verdict before a jury.

In addition to his Supreme Court clerkship, Danny clerked for judges on the United States Courts of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and the Fourth Circuit.

Danny has served as a guest lecturer in an annual writing seminar for engineering students at Carnegie Mellon University. In 2023, he was selected as a Temple Bar Scholar by the American Inns of Court.
