Patrick Haney is a litigation and trial lawyer who represents companies in their most challenging commercial disputes and most sensitive government investigations. Patrick has successfully litigated a range of complex disputes in federal and state courts across the country, including highly technical trade secret, product liability, False Claims Act (FCA), and mass tort cases. He has significant experience litigating class actions and multidistrict litigations. A former U.S. Navy pilot, Patrick also has in-depth experience in aviation and defense-related cases.

Patrick has served as litigation and trial counsel for numerous Fortune 500 clients, including Boeing, Raytheon, Siemens Energy, Accenture, and others. Prior to joining Jones Day in 2022, Patrick represented a leading aerospace manufacturer in a series of investigations and class actions arising out of the grounding of the 737 MAX airplane; defended an information technology services company in a FCA case regarding the provision of software to the Department of Defense; defended an energy company in cases brought by direct competitors alleging trade secrets misappropriation in the gas turbine industry; and served as trial counsel to a biotechnology company relating to genetically modified agricultural products. He was also counsel to a global hotel chain in a nationwide class action brought by hotel franchisees concerning alleged breach of contract and unfair trade practices and a consumer goods company in a series of putative class actions alleging unfair and deceptive trade practices in the marketing of antibacterial soap.

Patrick also has successfully represented criminal defendants seeking to overturn their convictions and refugees seeking asylum in the United States.
