Catarina Freitas works predominantly on cross-border M&A transactions in the United States and in Latin America. She represents clients in a wide range of industries, including energy, telecommunications, aviation, hospitality, and logistics.

Prior to joining Jones Day in 2018, Catarina was an associate in the corporate practice at a leading full-service Brazilian law firm.

Catarina is committed to pro bono service, representing clients in immigration and divorce issues. She also worked as an intern at the Florence Immigrant & Refugee Rights Project in Florence, Arizona.

Morgan Securities LLC; Banco do Brasil Securities LLC; and Jefferies LLC, as international placement agents, in connection with a BRL 3.0 billion (US$720 million) international offering of 299,738,518 Common Shares of Marfrig Global Foods S.A. (“Marfrig”), represented by a primary offering of 90,090,091 Common Shares by Marfrig and a secondary offering of 209,648,427 Common Shares by BNDES Participações S.A. – BNDESPAR, as the selling shareholder.
