Jackie DeCamara's practice focuses on complex business and construction law, as well as public works and regulatory compliance issues. She represents and advises owners, design professionals, and contactors in the successful resolution of large business and construction disputes in mediations, arbitrations, settlement negotiations, and all aspects of litigation.

Jackie regularly represents clients in the construction, design, engineering, energy, education, hospitality, transportation, health care, and entertainment industries. She also assists clients in contract drafting and claims analysis and resolution involving complex issues such as force majeure and delay claims, construction defects, contract disputes and termination, as well as public contracting and transactional issues.

Jackie's experience also includes advising entertainment venues in live performance transactions and facilities issues. Prior to practicing law, Jackie had a 20-year career in concert promotion and entertainment facility management, working for such notable venues as Caesar's Tahoe, Shoreline Amphitheatre, and The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, where she additionally oversaw numerous major capital improvement and renovation projects. As a former facilities and construction manager in the entertainment industry, Jackie has a deep understanding of clients' business goals and concerns.

Jackie is a member of the ABA Forum on the Construction Industry and regularly speaks on topics of interest in the construction industry.

  • California Pizza Kitchen's defeat of class certification upheld by court of appeals in putative wage and hour class action alleging violations in CaliforniaOn December 30, 2013, the Second Court of Appeals upheld the order denying class certification for Jones Day client California Pizza Kitchen in four putative wage and hour class actions in which Plaintiffs allege multiple violations of the California Labor Code.
  • LAUSD wins trial establishing notice sufficient to terminate contractor for causeJones Day won a five week trial for Los Angeles Unified School District involving termination for cause of a contractor responsible for constructing and two new schools.
  • Sempra Energy affiliate successfully completes new LNG facility and resolves all contractor claims under EPC contractJones Day represented a Sempra Energy affiliate, the owner of a liquefied natural gas regasification facility in Louisiana, in arbitration proceedings with the EPC contractor who sought to recover more than $200 million in alleged damages.
