Emily Dowling's practice focuses on business restructuring and reorganization, including chapter 11 proceedings, complex bankruptcy litigation, and other bankruptcy-related matters. In addition, she counsels clients on a broad range of out-of-court insolvency and restructuring-related issues.

She currently represents Aldrich Pump and Murray Boiler, affiliates of Trane Technologies, in their chapter 11 cases before the Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of North Carolina.

In law school, Emily took an interest in complex civil litigation and procedure, authoring the note: "To Stay or Not to Stay: Competing Motions in the Shadow of Multidistrict Litigation," 97 Notre Dame L. Rev. 897 (2022).

Emily is a member of the Lesbian and Gay Bar Association of Chicago. Prior to and during law school, Emily volunteered as a crisis counselor for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
