SEC Enforcement in Financial Reporting and Disclosure—2018 Mid-Year Update

Chairman Jay Clayton's vision for the Securities and Exchange Commission has largely shaped the first half of 2018, with policies and initiatives focused on the "main street investor" and combating clear cases of outright fraud. The number of highly technical and complex accounting and auditing enforcement actions continues to decline, but the robust control environments that companies have designed and implemented over the past several years continue to be as important today as they have ever been.
