Mexico City Airport Trust obtains Green Bond rating of GB1 by Moody's

Client(s) Mexico City Airport Trust

Jones Day advised the Mexico City Airport Trust in obtaining a Green Bond Assessment of GB1 from Moody's, to the Senior Secured Notes to be issued to partially fund the design, construction, development, and operation of the Mexico City New International Airport (NAICM).

The NAICM Green Bond is the first bond from emerging markets to obtain a rating of GB1 from Moody's; the first green bond related to the construction and development of an airport; and the first green bond in Mexico not related to a finance institution.

Additionally, Jones Day advised the Mexico City Airport Trust in obtaining a strong second opinion from Sustainalytics, which concludes that the NAICM Green Bond Framework is in alignment with the four pillars of Green Bond Principles 2016.
