Fortune 50 company secures victim status in commercial bribery investigation

Jones Day successfully represented a Fortune 50 company in connection with an investigation conducted by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York relating to the company's relationship with a vendor, specifically focused on potential bribes or other improper payments and the potential improper influence of government actors. Following the completion of the investigation, the U.S. Attorney indicted the vendor's CEO for commercial bribery, fraud, and witness tampering offenses. Jones Day successfully advocated for the company to be deemed a "victim," despite misconduct by a now-former employee identified in the indictment as a co-conspirator.
