Biotechnology company defends against expedited statutory claim by director seeking inspection of corporate books and records

Jones Day represented a clinical-stage biotechnology company in expedited statutory proceedings. A director, who also is chairman of one of the company's commercial partners, filed suit to inspect the company's corporate documents pursuant to Section 220(d) of the Delaware General Corporation Law. The parties reached a cooperation agreement and the matter was dismissed with prejudice.
