OPSEU Pension Plan Trust Fund and its affiliates seek tax advice on additional investment

Client(s) OPSEU Pension Plan Trust Fund

Jones Day advised OPSEU Pension Plan Trust Fund and its affiliates OPTrust Infrastructure Europe IV Inc. (Canada) and OPTrust Infrastructure Europe I Sarl (Luxembourg) on the Spanish tax aspects of its additional investment in Global Via group (Spain) through the conversion of the existing Convertible Loan Facility into equity of Global Via Infraestructuras S.A. (Spain).

Global Via is a conglomerate which owns a number of infrastructure concessions including highways, railways, ports, marinas and hospitals situated in various jurisdictions (Spain, Portugal, Andorra, Ireland, Mexico, Costa Rica, Chile and the US).

The estimated transaction value is approximately €390 million.
