IAC wins manifestly unreasonable dismissal case in Netherlands

Jones Day successfully defended International Automotive Components Group, LLC ("IAC") in the Netherlands against a manifestly unreasonable dismissal case of a former employee. The court ruled that the plaintiff failed to prove that the termination due to illness was a result of a work place accident and the (financial) consequences of the termination are too harsh for him compared to the interests of IAC in dismissing the employee. The court entered judgment in favor of IAC and concluded that the dismissal is not unfair and therefore no compensation whatsoever was awarded to the employee. The court entered judgment in favor of IAC on all counts.
