Sanofi and Lonza form joint venture to establish large-scale biologics production facility in Switzerland

Client(s) Sanofi

Jones Day advised Sanofi in the formation of a joint venture with Lonza Group AG to build and operate a large-scale mammalian cell culture facility for monoclonal antibody production in Visp, Switzerland. The initial investment will be around €270 million (US$285 million), to be split equally between each company.

In addition to M&A representation, Jones Day provided antitrust advice regarding this transaction.
