Hachette Book Group and KADOKAWA form joint venture to operate Yen Press

Jones Day advised Hachette Book Group ("HBG") in its formation of a joint venture, joining HBG’s Yen Press imprint, a leader in the U.S. publication of Japanese manga and light novels, with KADOKAWA, a major Japanese publisher. KADOKAWA holds majority ownership, with 51 percent of the business acquired through its U.S. investment company, and HBG controlling 49 percent of the business.
