Sherwin-Williams defends against suit alleging injuries to children from ingestion of lead paint

Client(s) Sherwin-Williams Company, The

Jones Day represented The Sherwin-Williams Company and other former manufacturers of white lead carbonate pigments in action involving over 160 plaintiffs in two different cases. The plaintiffs are children who allege that their ingestion of paint containing white lead carbonate pigments has injured them. All plaintiffs seek to use Wisconsin's risk-contribution theory of liability, because they cannot identify the manufacturer that made the white lead carbonate pigment that they ingested.
