Mexico City Government, through its Ministry of Administration and Finance, completes its Metro Line 3 co-investment project

Jones Day advised the Government of Mexico City, through its Ministry of Administration and Finance, on the co-investment project for the comprehensive modernization of Line 3 of the Mexico City Metro (Sistema de Transporte Colectivo Metro). The project contemplates the comprehensive renewal of tracks, civil works, and railway systems; the provision of 45 new trains; the modernization of electrical, control, and signaling systems; the rehabilitation of all 21 stations along the line connecting Indios Verdes and Universidad; and the provision of related long-term services.

The project represents one of Mexico City’s most significant transportation infrastructure initiatives and is expected to move toward formalization following completion of the applicable governmental evaluations and approvals, with major construction works scheduled to begin in 2027. The Firms representation includes advising the Ministry of Administration and Finance on the legal and financial structuring and implementation of the co-investment project.
