Product manufacturers file amicus brief urging Pennsylvania Supreme Court to adopt Restatement (Third) defective design standard

On behalf of The Sherwin-Williams Company, United States Steel Corporation, Textron, Inc., and Beazer East, Inc., Jones Day submitted an amicus brief to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court encouraging the adoption of the design defect standard stated in the Restatement (Third), Product Liability. The majority, over a vigorous dissent, dismissed the appeal as improvidently granted in order to avoid deciding the issue.
