Jones Day names six winners of its 2026 International Legal Fellowship Award in China
In June 2026, Jones Day announced that six outstanding law students from top Chinese universities won Jones Day International Legal Fellowship Award this year.
Launched in 2001, the annual Legal Fellowship was created to support students in the pursuit of their legal education and experience as part of the Firm’s commitment to advance to the rule of law. The winners were selected from a pool of hundreds of applications and are students at China University of Political Science and Law, East China University of Political Science and Law, Fudan University, Peking University, and Tsinghua University.
Angel Huang, Jones Day’s Partner-in-Charge of Mainland China Offices and M&A Chair for Asia, expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the six winners. "In a new era where artificial intelligence aims to reshape legal services, the ability and experience of legal professionals to analyze legal issues has become increasingly important and also the key foundation for cultivating their critical thinking and legal practice skills. Our long-running fellowship program enables diversified cooperation with universities to cultivate promising legal talents," she said. " Through multi-dimensional school-firm collaboration, we equip young law students to adapt to industrial changes and tackle future social challenges with solid legal knowledge and skills.”

In an age where legal questions grow ever more complex, we are reminded that true excellence demands both rigorous mastery of the law and the vision to engage with it on a global stage.
The Jones Day International Legal Fellowship Award program is open to all graduate students studying law at universities in China. It is also open to undergraduate students in their third year or above studying law at universities in China. Since the program’s inception, Jones Day has awarded a total of 277 Fellowships and more than RMB 5.3 million in scholarships to law students in China.
