Jones Day adds cybersecurity and privacy litigation partner Amanda Fitzsimmons in San Diego
Amanda Fitzsimmons has joined Jones Day as a partner in its Cybersecurity, Privacy & Data Protection Practice. She is based in the Firm's San Diego Office.
Ms. Fitzsimmons is an experienced litigator and strategic legal advisor with more than 15 years of experience in complex litigation, privacy, cybersecurity, and compliance. She has served as both an in-house legal executive and as a partner at a global law firm. Ms. Fitzsimmons arrives at Jones Day after working most recently as Head of Legal at Salt Security, a growth-stage cybersecurity company, and previously served as Director, Associate General Counsel at Coinbase, where she scaled and led the company's commercial litigation team. She has advised executive teams on emerging legal issues at the intersection of cybersecurity and data protection, including the use of AI, third-party risk management, and global privacy regulations.

Ms. Fitzsimmons joins a global, multidisciplinary team of Jones Day lawyers with in-depth experience assisting clients with all of their cyber, privacy, and data protection legal needs. The Firm's Cybersecurity, Privacy & Data Protection Practice advises clients worldwide on transactions, compliance, governance and risk management, cyber-incident preparedness and response, regulatory investigations, and litigation. Jones Day's cybersecurity and privacy lawyers have experience across industry sectors, including emerging technologies, life sciences, health care, financial services, retail, communications, manufacturing, and transportation.

Ms. Fitzsimmons earned her law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law and her undergraduate degree from San Diego State University. She began her legal career as a law clerk to the Hon. Michael Anello, a federal judge in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. Ms. Fitzsimmons is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) and an Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP).
