Daigo Takahashi has more than a decade of experience contributing to complex cross-border transactions for Japanese, U.S., and other multinational clients, including M&A, divestitures, carve-outs, strategic investments, joint ventures, and other corporate matters. He focuses his practice on Japan inbound and outbound transactions and regularly assists clients with transactions involving the United States, Europe, and other parts of Asia.
Fully bilingual in English and Japanese and having practiced in Tokyo and San Francisco, Daigo has experience across a broad range of industries, including technology, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, industrials, consumer products, and health care/life sciences.
Prior to joining Jones Day, Daigo practiced in the Tokyo and San Francisco offices of a leading international law firm, where his experience included contributing to the successful completion of Carlyle Japan's divestiture of a Japan-headquartered global engine components manufacturing portfolio company; Kurita Water's acquisition of U.S. Water Services; SoftBank's establishment of a joint venture with Tempus AI in Japan; and Tsubaki Nakashima's acquisition of U.S.-based NN's global precision bearing components business. During that time, he also completed a secondment with OpenAI in Japan.
In addition, Daigo has assisted clients on strategic investments in emerging technology companies and on transactions involving gaming and interactive entertainment, financial services, and professional services businesses.
