Tiago Rittner

Tiago Rittner advises private equity sponsors, corporate clients, and management teams on complex M&A transactions and reorganizations across a range of industries.

Before joining Jones Day in 2026, Tiago practiced in the private equity/M&A group at a first-tier international law firm in Munich, where he gained substantial experience in domestic and cross-border transactions. During this time, he advised the shareholders of Frigo-Trans and BPL on the sale of their stakes to UPS, advised Riverside on several transactions as well as the management and development of German portfolio companies, and advised PAI Partners on the acquisition of Motel One and the Infra Group. He also counseled Société Générale on its joint venture with AllianceBernstein in the area of cash equities and research and advised the management of IU International University regarding management participation.

Prior to his qualification, Tiago completed his legal clerkship with placements at two U.S. law firms and gained experience in private equity and in commercial and antitrust litigation. He also gained experience in distressed mid-cap M&A transactions as a research associate prior to his clerkship.
