Carol Li represents and counsels financial institutions and other companies in a variety of high-stakes and complex commercial litigation matters, arbitration proceedings, and investigations.
Carol has experience representing financial institutions and corporate clients in breach of contract disputes, antitrust litigation, and claims arising under the False Claims Act (FCA) and the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA). Carol also represents private equity firms in post-closing disputes involving breach of contract, indemnification, fraud, insurance coverage, earnouts, and purchase price adjustments. She also counsels clients on compliance and enforcement risks and in internal and government investigations related to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues and corporate misconduct.
Carol maintains an active pro bono practice participating in the Firm's anti-human trafficking initiatives and assisting victims of childhood sexual exploitation in seeking criminal restitution.
Carol is a 2026 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Pathfinder. Prior to joining Jones Day, Carol served as a law clerk for Judge Kenneth F. Ripple on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
