Tara Kowalski is a Chambers-ranked insurance coverage lawyer and leading advocate for corporate policyholders. For more than 20 years, she has represented policyholders in complex insurance coverage claims and litigation, recovering hundreds of millions of dollars under a wide range of insurance programs.

Tara represents policyholders at every stage of the insurance coverage process, from prelitigation counseling and strategic advocacy through arbitration, trial, and appeal. She is known for her ability to navigate high-stakes, multifaceted disputes and to develop creative strategies that maximize insurance recovery.

Her experience spans all major lines of coverage, including commercial general liability (CGL), property damage, business interruption, directors and officers (D&O), errors and omissions (E&O), professional liability, employment practices liability (EPLI), cyber, umbrella/excess, and technology-driven and emerging risks.

Tara has represented policyholders across a broad range of industries, including consumer products, technology, energy, health care, agriculture, aviation, manufacturing, financial services, education, real estate, construction, hospitality, fashion/apparel, and food and beverage.

She served as co-chair of the Business Interruption Subcommittee of the American Bar Association's Insurance Litigation Committee. She has been recognized repeatedly as a "Super Lawyer," "Top LA Women Lawyer," and "Rising Star" by the publishers of Los Angeles magazine. In 2013, she was named a "Rising Star Under 40" by Law360, one of only two policyholder lawyers named in the United States.

In addition to her practice, Tara frequently speaks and writes on insurance coverage issues. She also serves on the board of the California Women's Law Center.
