Alex Fries represents businesses in high-stakes complex litigation. As a commercial litigator, her practice involves product liability, contracts, class actions, multidistrict litigation, fraud, health care, securities and financial products, and business torts. She has argued motions in state and federal courts and has defended clients in multiple trials. She is experienced in working on and managing litigation teams on all aspects of the case and is skilled in all facets of fact and expert discovery.
Recently, Alex defended a major retailer in hundreds of cases brought by states and municipalities alleging a public nuisance and prevailed in a jury trial for pharmaceutical company Celgene.
Alex maintains an active pro bono practice. She was lead counsel on two trials in Los Angeles Superior Court in which she obtained restraining orders for victims of domestic violence. Alex also provides pro bono legal assistance through Jones Day's Border Project.
