David A.Ciarlo

David Ciarlo represents clients in high-stakes, complex business litigation involving a wide range of legal issues, including contract disputes, business torts, securities litigation, and contested bankruptcy matters. David has experience in nearly every aspect of litigation, including pretrial discovery, briefing and motions practice, and trial preparation.

Among other matters, David recently represented a university in a football concussion lawsuit brought by a former student-athlete. He also currently represents a solar company in a significant contract dispute and a wholesale food distributor in a complex warehousing case. David has also represented investors in a dispute involving an entertainment company and has successfully defended an oil and gas company in a dispute with a municipality arising from a refinery fire. David recently helped defeat a securities action arising out of the sale of a national restaurant chain, and he assisted a health care client resolve several complex contract disputes.

David also has advised bondholders and creditors' committees in complex corporate restructuring proceedings, including the Official Committee of Second Priority Noteholders in the bankruptcy cases for Caesars Entertainment Operating Company and certain of its subsidiaries.

Prior to joining Jones Day, David served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Ruggero J. Aldisert of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
