Em Towers is a patent attorney focused on assisting clients with litigation in U.S. District Courts and with matters at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Em has experience advising clients regarding patent infringement matters and breach of contract disputes, as well as in matters before the USPTO, including patent prosecution and inter partes reviews (IPRs). She has worked on matters involving design patents and utility patents in the fields of electronic chips, circuit design software, medical devices, vehicle lights, packaging technology, defense industry, consumer product design, and mechanical devices.
Prior to attending law school, Em worked as a process engineer in operations and research and development at The J.M. Smucker Company and in operations at ChromaScape, a specialty colorants and additives supplier. She later worked for a boutique and a mid-size law firm prosecuting patents in diverse fields of technology. She is a registered patent agent.
