Jones Day partner Robert Watts named a winner to "On The Rise" list by Georgia Daily Report

Georgia Daily Report has named Jones Day partner Robert Watts a winner to its "On the Rise" list that recognizes the Southeast's most promising lawyers under the age of 40. The list is part of Georgia Daily Report's annual Southeastern Legal Awards, which took place this month.

Mr. Watts is a go-to advocate for complex shareholder and securities litigation, high-stakes M&A litigation, governmental investigations, and internal corporate investigations. He is also a trusted counselor on transactions, corporate governance, and FINRA matters. He has held critical lead roles on high-impact securities class actions, derivative suits, breach of fiduciary duty cases, and appraisal matters, including on behalf of Forward Air Corporation, The Southern Company, Scotts Miracle-Gro, Randstad, HD Supply, Newell Brands, and Jarden Corporation. He assisted with drafting the enabling legislation that created the Georgia Statewide Business Court and later served on the Court's Rules Commission. Mr. Watts also maintains an active community presence and pro bono practice, volunteering with Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, Atlanta Legal Aid, and the Georgia Nature Conservancy.
