Jones Day's Dan Moss to be inducted as Fellow in American College of Bankruptcy

The global law firm Jones Day announced today that Dan Moss has been named a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy, an honorary public service association of insolvency professionals invited to join based on a proven record of "the highest standards of expertise, leadership, integrity, professionalism, scholarship, and service to the insolvency practice and to their communities."

Mr. Moss is a member of the 37th Class of the College and will be formally inducted at its Annual Meeting in March 2026, in San Antonio. He is one of 37 new Fellows who will be honored and recognized for their professional excellence in the area of bankruptcy and insolvency practice, and with his induction, will be the sixth Fellow at Jones Day joining Corinne Ball, Carl Black, Greg Gordon, Heather Lennox, and Kevyn Orr.

"Dan has served as lead counsel in a number of major restructuring matters across the U.S., Asia, and Europe, leads Jones Day's cross-border restructuring efforts, and has played a key role in Jones Day's marquee representations of debtors, creditors' committees, equity sponsors and other interested parties throughout his career," said Ms. Lennox, who leads Jones Day's Business Restructuring & Reorganization Practice. "He is a valued member of our team and a well-respected member of the bankruptcy bar in the U.S. It's my privilege to congratulate him on his induction as a Fellow of the College."

Based in Jones Day's Washington and New York offices, Mr. Moss has significant experience in business finance and restructuring — with a particular focus on complex corporate and cross-border reorganizations, municipal restructurings, distressed acquisitions, and crypto-related matters. He represents debtors, creditors, and creditor committees in significant corporate and government reorganizations, and he also counsels clients on litigation avoidance and corporate governance matters.

He served as co-lead counsel for Diebold Nixdorf in its successful restructuring in 71 days of more than $2.7 billion in funded debt in the first-ever dual proceeding under the U.S. Bankruptcy Code and Dutch WHOA restructuring law, including the first-ever chapter 15 recognition of a WHOA proceeding and confirmed restructuring plan. Mr. Moss also was lead counsel to Spark Networks SE in connection with its restructuring under the German StaRUG law and the first-ever chapter 15 recognition of a StaRUG proceeding and confirmed reorganization plan, and co-lead counsel for the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the Toys "R" Us Property Company I. In addition, he played a significant role in the City of Detroit's chapter 9 case — from litigating the City's eligibility for chapter 9 to plan confirmation.
