Jones Day's Rick Bergstrom and Koree Wooley named "Top Labor & Employment Lawyers" by the Daily Journal
Jones Day's Rick Bergstrom and Koree Wooley were named to the Daily Journal's list of "Top Labor & Employment Lawyers" for 2025. They both are partners in the Firm's Labor & Employment Practice. This honor recognizes California attorneys who have made significant contributions in labor and employment law.
For more than 30 years, Rick has successfully defended clients in class actions, California Private Attorney General Act (PAGA) actions, whistleblower actions, and individual lawsuits involving a spectrum of claims. He is a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and has been praised by clients for his creative and strategic thinking, focus on client service, and business-minded approach to problem-solving and litigation. Rick recently defended an international restaurant chain against three related class and representative actions by former employees, securing a favorable global settlement that protected the client's fundamental practices.
Koree is a litigator and counselor with a track record of success in high-stakes employment litigation. She has particularly deep experience in representing employers in complex class and representative actions under PAGA. In addition, Koree has devoted a considerable portion of her practice to representing clients governed by the Railway Labor Act in both disputes under the RLA and matters that sit at the intersection of state and federal law. Recently, Koree helped secure an injunction preventing an unlawful strike by airline pilots. Koree is the hiring partner for the San Diego Office.
