As co-leader of Jones Day's trademark, advertising, and copyright areas of focus, Anna Raimer helps clients do what matters most with their brands — protect, grow, and defend them. She partners with clients to build and strengthen their IP portfolios and resolve high-stakes disputes, domestically and around the world.
Anna represents clients in enforcement actions in courts throughout the United States, handling matters involving trademark and trade dress infringement, copyright infringement, false advertising, unfair competition, cybersquatting, and misappropriation of trade secrets. Described as a "force to be reckoned with in the advertising litigation remit" in The Legal 500, Anna regularly represents clients in competitor-versus-competitor advertising disputes. Anna also has extensive experience leading opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Her work extends to complex online enforcement challenges, including domain name disputes.
Beyond litigation, Anna manages international brand portfolios, advising on the strategic development and protection of IP assets and overseeing all aspects of trademark clearance, prosecution, and maintenance. She also counsels on trademark and copyright issues arising in licensing and commercial transactions.
Anna is deeply committed to education and professional service. She is an adjunct professor, teaching Internet Law at the University of Houston Law Center. Anna co-chairs the Copyright Committee of the State Bar of Texas and serves on the International Trademark Association's Academic Committee. A frequent speaker and author, Anna edits the Lanham Act section of O'Connor's Federal Intellectual Property Codes (2016-2026 editions) and coauthored the IP section of the ABA's Blockchain for Business Lawyers (2024 ed.).
