Grant Mellott represents clients in complex commercial litigation matters in state and federal forums. He focuses on securities litigation, including class actions and shareholder derivative lawsuits, while maintaining an active general commercial litigation practice. He has extensive experience conducting fact investigations, preparing briefs, and drafting motions in state and federal courts.
Grant's recent experience includes representing Experian, one of the three national credit reporting agencies in the United States, in individual consumer litigation under the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
He maintains an active pro bono practice, which includes providing legal services to individuals seeking asylum in the United States and survivors of domestic violence. Grant has led efforts to draft amicus briefs and regulatory comments before the Second Circuit, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development.
