Margo Cornette advises national and international clients on the full spectrum of European data protection, information technology, and digital regulatory matters. She works closely with multinational organizations across a range of industries, including technology, cybersecurity, cloud computing, life sciences and health care, financial services, and automotive.

Margo's practice includes advising clients on complex issues involving AI (artificial intelligence) governance, data sharing and pooling arrangements, and cross-border data transfers. She regularly supports clients in global data compliance initiatives, particularly relating to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the ePrivacy Directive. Her recent work includes advising advanced technology companies on data subject access requests, cookie compliance, data protection impact assessments, and whistleblower procedures.

Margo also advises companies on the latest EU data and cybersecurity regulations, including the Data Governance Act (DGA), the Data Act (DA), the Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act), the Digital Services Act (DSA), the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), and the NIS 2 Directive.

She has extensive experience drafting and negotiating complex IT (information technology) and outsourcing agreements and also has represented clients in litigation before the Belgian courts, including matters before the Belgian Data Protection Authority.

Before joining Jones Day in 2025, Margo gained experience in the data protection, IP (intellectual property), and IT department of a UK law firm in Brussels.
