Andrew Aistrup

Andrew Aistrup advises clients across a broad range of intellectual property (IP) and technology matters, including trademarks, patents, copyright, and trade secrets/confidential information. He has extensive litigation experience and also advises on transactional and regulatory matters. Andrew advises on IP issues relating to the development, use, and regulation of AI (artificial intelligence) and other emerging technologies. His matters have spanned a range of sectors, including computer technology, aviation, digital gaming, e-commerce, book publishing, consumer goods, and pharmaceuticals.

Andrew's contentious experience includes multijurisdiction disputes, acting on litigation in the United Kingdom before the High Court, Commercial Court, and Court of Appeal. His recent work includes a high-value trademark license dispute; patent infringement cases in computing, aerospace, and wireless communication fields; video game copyright infringement; misappropriation of trade secrets; and a trademark dispute involving exhaustion of rights.

Andrew also regularly advises and represents clients for IP development and protection work, including United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO) and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) applications and proceedings. His transactional practice includes advisory and drafting/negotiation experience in IP licensing, restructuring, security filings, and diligence.

Andrew is a member of the British Literary and Artistic Copyright Association (BLACA), contributor to the International Association for the Protection of IP (AIPPI), and he holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice from the University of Oxford.
