Dalia Elmelige maintains a broad commercial litigation practice, with significant experience in complex international and domestic commercial disputes. She has advised companies in cross-border litigation strategy and international regulatory compliance and has counseled clients in plaintiff and in defensive litigation strategy. She has assisted global corporations and financial institutions in a wide variety of high-stakes cases and has worked with clients across a range of industries, including pharmaceuticals/health care, financial services, ESG, (environmental, social, and governance), and manufacturing.
Prior to Joining Jones Day in 2026, Dalia practiced as a litigation associate at a leading international law firm. She is committed to an active pro bono practice focused on civil liberties and international human rights and recently helped secure a settlement for the expansion of a Long Island mosque resolving claims of religious discrimination under RLUIPA (Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act). She also has helped author new sentencing guidelines for Kenyan death row prisoners in collaboration with Reprieve. Before attending law school, Dalia was a Fulbright Scholar in the United Kingdom, where she studied the securitization of refugees across Europe.
