Chris Pottmeyer represents clients in high-stakes commercial disputes in state and federal courts and arbitral proceedings. Chris has assisted clients resolve disputes involving contract breaches, business torts, class actions, securities violations, construction disputes, investigations, and insurance recovery. His experience includes successfully briefing and arguing federal appeals, dispositive motions, motions in limine, and other critical motions.

Chris recently served as the lead associate on multiple trial teams, successfully defending one of the world's largest steel producers in complex contractual disputes — one ended in a favorable Daubert challenge and the other was tried to verdict after a three-week bench trial. Chris was also a member of a team that successfully defended Pittsburgh's largest health care organization in several high-profile disputes.

Most recently, Chris argued a dispositive motion and secured the complete dismissal of breach of contract and fraudulent inducement claims brought against the former owner of an industrial complex, a decision that Chris successfully defended before the Second Circuit.

Chris actively participates in the Pro Se Pro Bono ADR Program in the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, where he advises pro se litigants for purposes of alternative dispute resolution. Before joining Jones Day, Chris was a teacher and mentor for students with developmental disabilities.
