Sam Lioi's practice focuses on appellate advocacy and civil litigation.

Sam has experience in federal and state courts at the trial and appellate levels and on a range of substantive areas, including constitutional and administrative law, complex commercial and health care disputes, public nuisance, and other business torts. He has drafted briefs on various topics, including discovery, class certification, and pretrial issues, as well as merits, post-judgment, and appellate matters.

In addition, Sam maintains an active pro bono practice. Prior to joining Jones Day in 2022, he served as a law clerk for Chief Judge Jeffrey Sutton and Judge Eric Murphy at the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
