Tyler Fields represents and advises clients where law, politics, and policy converge. He represents public and private companies, elected officials, individuals, and nonprofit organizations in government investigations and in civil and criminal litigation. He also counsels clients on regulatory issues including campaign finance and election law, Constitutional and administrative law, criminal law, energy and national security law, lobbying law, and international trade.

His experience includes adversarial litigation and nonadversarial regulatory advice. He has represented officials in sensitive political and criminal investigations and has provided extensive advice in the political arena. His experience includes crisis communications and response at the international, state, and local levels. He also advises clients on numerous constitutional and regulatory issues, including mounting offensive challenges to government overreach under U.S. and various state constitutions as well as under the Administrative Procedure Act. He has litigated claims related to companies' environmental, social, and governance (ESG) statements/reports and has advised clients on trade matters under the Federal Trade Commission Act. His experience includes advising on ethical issues raised by federal, state, and local gift/campaign finance/lobbying laws, and he has counseled clients regarding emergency regulations, restrictions, and sanctions arising from disasters such as wildfires, wars, and pandemics. Tyler maintains an active pro bono practice largely in the anti-human trafficking space.

Tyler also served as a political appointee in the White House for nearly two years from 2017 to 2018. During law school, Tyler was published twice and spent time at the U.S. Attorney's Office and the California Department of Justice.
