Po-Chien Chen's primary practice focuses on complex cross-border litigation involving criminal and civil disputes, intellectual property rights, business disputes, and negotiation with government authorities. His clients include Fortune Global 500 institutions and individuals, and he has successfully represented clients in civil and criminal lawsuits, including representing financial institutions in multijurisdictional litigations and arbitrations and high-tech companies in antitrust disputes and trade secret matters.
Po-Chien also focuses on and has extensive experience with intellectual property-related matters, specifically trade secret disputes and privacy policies. His intellectual property representations include advising companies on cross-border trade secret misappropriation disputes and protection of trade secrets. He also regularly counsels companies from Europe, the United States, and Japan on internal privacy policy and annually conducts training lectures for companies on personal data protection.
Armed with master's degrees in law and business, Po-Chien advises on a wide range of client matters, including dispute resolution, contract negotiation, and legal and business analysis, from not only a legal perspective, but also from a business perspective. Prior to joining Jones Day, Po-Chien worked at several law firms and a subsidiary of Air China. He also served in the Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Justice of Taiwan where he gained experience in criminal investigation and national security.
Po-Chien is a member of the IP Law and Business Law Committee of the Taipei Bar Association and is legal counsel for the Harley-Davidson owners group in Taiwan.
