Alla Barford advises financial investors and trade clients on mergers and acquisitions, disposals, reorganizations, and general corporate matters. She has experience in a variety of industry sectors, including financial services, technology, energy, health, and retail, and also served a secondment to an international investment management business headquartered in London.

Prior to joining Jones Day in 2023, Alla worked in the London offices of several U.S. law firms, where she assisted Fidelity Bank on its acquisition of Union Bank, the English subsidiary of Union Bank of Nigeria; Mubadala as lead investor ($250m) in the $800m Series E funding round in Getir, a Turkish start-up company that offers on-demand delivery services for grocery items; an ad hoc group of bondholders on the debt and equity restructure of the Metrocentre, the largest shopping center in Europe; Cairn Capital Group, and Mediobanca as its majority shareholder, on the terms of a strategic partnership in which Cairn acquired and merged with Bybrook Capital, creating a credit manager with approximately $8 billion AUM (assets under management); Croatian conglomerate Fortenova Grupa on the €615 million sale of its frozen food business operating across eight jurisdictions to Nomad Foods; Equinor on its exit from its offshore joint partnership with Rosneft, as part of the $550 million acquisition by Equinor from Rosneft of additional onshore operations; and Mail.ru, the leading internet and IT company in Russia, on the formation of a joint venture with Alibaba Group, PJSC MegaFon, and the Russian Direct Investment Fund.
