Jones Day welcomes corporate labor & employment partner Christopher Foster in San Francisco

Christopher Foster has joined Jones Day as a partner in its Labor & Employment Practice. He is based in the Firm's San Francisco Office.

Mr. Foster advises leading companies on a broad range of labor and employment matters, with a focus on traditional labor law, union organizing and decertification campaigns, collective bargaining negotiations, and unfair labor practice proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). He protects brands and operations across industries, especially in technology, manufacturing, media and entertainment, and healthcare. In addition, Mr. Foster advises clients on labor and employment issues arising in corporate transactions and workforce restructurings.

"Chris is a seasoned labor and employment lawyer whose traditional labor experience is a tremendous asset to our practice," said Matt Lampe, Co-Leader of Jones Day's Labor & Employment Practice. "His deep knowledge of union organizing, collective bargaining, and NLRB proceedings, combined with his breadth of experience advising major companies in employment litigation, makes him an exceptional addition to our global team. I am delighted to welcome him to Jones Day."

At Jones Day, Mr. Foster joins a global Labor & Employment Practice, which includes more than 130 lawyers worldwide and is top-rated annually by Chambers and Legal 500. The Firm's lawyers have secured groundbreaking victories for clients on traditional labor matters in employment discrimination, harassment, wage-hour, and restrictive covenant cases across a number of jurisdictions.

"Chris is a highly regarded labor and employment lawyer here in Northern California and his arrival further strengthens our ability to serve clients across the full spectrum of workplace and labor issues both throughout California and across the country," said Aaron Agenbroad, Partner-in-Charge of Jones Day's San Francisco Office. "His track record of success — from union elections and collective bargaining to complex employment litigation disputes — is a tremendous complement to our team."

Mr. Foster earned his law degree from the U.C. Berkeley School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Santa Clara University. He also studied economics and philosophy at the University of Oxford. Mr. Foster has been recognized by The Recorder as one of California's "Lawyers on the Fast Track" (2025), was named by the Daily Journal as a "Top Labor & Employment Lawyer" in California, and is listed in Legal 500 for Labor & Employment.
