Client receives commutation of sentence from President Obama

On Tuesday, November 22, 2016, the U.S. Office of the Pardon Attorney notified a Jones Day team that President Obama had granted their client’s clemency petition. The Jones Day team represented client in his request for clemency of his conviction for distribution of less than 2.5 grams of methamphetamine. The representation resulted in client receiving a commutation of his sentence from President Obama. As a result, client will be eligible for release from prison five years early.
