Jones Day attorney Ryan J. Watson, acting as court-appointed amicus curiae in this D.C. Circuit appeal, filed briefs relating to the habeas corpus petition of an individual who was extradited from Mexico to the United States. The habeas petitioner contends that the President violated his statutory duty to ensure that the petitioner was charged only with the offenses specified in the extradition warrant. The D.C. Circuit appointed Jones Day to make arguments in support of the petitioner's position and to present oral argument.
