Verizon reaches agreements with Communications Workers of America and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers covering approximately 36,000 employees

Jones Day advised Verizon Communications, Inc. in its 2015-2016 collective bargaining negotiations with the Communications Workers of America and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. The parties reached tentative agreements covering approximately 36,000 employees in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic footprints on May 27, 2016, ten months after their collective bargaining agreements expired on August 1, 2015. Both the United States Secretary of Labor and the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service assisted with the negotiations. Members of both unions ratified the agreements on June 17, 2016.
