Hospital system defends against investigation into fraudulent billing

Jones Day defended the client in an investigation conducted by the United States Attorney's Office ("USAO") for the Southern District of Georgia relating to a qui tam complaint under the Federal False Claims Act and involving alleged fraudulent billing of radiation oncology services, among other alleged false claims. After interviews and document production, the USAO declined to intervene and the Relator dismissed the action without prejudice.
