Jones Day represented the owner of a multimillion dollar real estate project in a lawsuit in Harris County state court relating to a series of complex commercial real estate transactions. The plaintiff, a mezzanine lender, sought to obtain all of the closely held company’s equity in the property after it allegedly breached the loan agreement. After successfully defending against a temporary restraining order and the appointment of a receiver to take control of the project, the matter settled on terms favorable to our client.
