San Francisco office joins local bar association's Right to Civil Counsel Program

Client(s) Right to Civil Counsel Movement

The San Francisco Office recently joined the Right to Civil Counsel Movement spearheaded by the local bar association's Justice and Diversity Center. This program recognizes that everyone should have access to legal services in cases involving basic human needs, including housing, stabilizing children's lives, and sustenance. Jones Day San Francisco will focus its efforts on helping represent families in uncontested guardianship proceedings. On March 13, 2014, twelve Jones Day attorneys attended a guardianship training in the San Francisco office led by a local family law attorney from the Justice and Diversity Center. Since that training, the office has taken on two guardianship cases, and expects to handle more in the future.
